Ayurvedic Remedies For Piles...

Piles otherwise known as hemorrhoids are enlarged, painful veins in your rectum. It refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed. Piles arise from the increased pressure of internal or external veins around the anal canal. Piles are both internal and external.Internal hemorrhoids, unless they are severe, cannot be seen or felt.External hemorrhoids can be seen around the outside of the anus. Although uncomfortable and embarrassing, it is not normally a serious condition.

Causes of Piles:
It has been seen that constipation due to water retention in women, who are experiencing premenstrual syndrome or menstruation, can be the cause of piles. Along with this hypertension and portal hypertension are major causes of piles since they connect the portal vein and the vena cava that is occurring in the rectal wall and this is also known as portocaval anastomoses. Obesity has been considered as a major cause of piles since it increases rectal vein pressure and sitting for prolonged periods can lead to piles since there is much pressure on the rectal veins. Often pregnant women suffer from piles as the bowel movements are strained in these times. Those who smoke a lot or consume excessive quantities of alcohol are also prone to piles as both these conditions lead to severe internal bleeding of veins inside rectum area. Studies reveal that both alcohol and caffeine are causes of piles as they lead to diarrhea.
Other Causes of Piles
Low fiber diet
Chronic constipation
Keep sitting on the hard seats for prolonged duration
Morbid condition of lever
Signs and Symptoms of Piles: The symptoms of piles vary depending upon the site of piles, duration of symptoms and your overall health. External piles cause swelling outside the anus, irritation and itching. In some people, they can be painful sometimes but they usually do not bleed. Internal piles bleed during passage of hard stools but they are usually not painful. At times there can be slimy discharge of mucus from the piles.
